Have fun!

Had also finished Area 88 (2004,) and despite its mild ending and how it directed itself, I enjoyed it for what it was.
Another Anime with a cute protagonist I'm trying out is The Great Jahy Won't be Defeated (or something like that,) which so far it's entertaining, and Heatguy J, which I'm sure I've watched some episodes of it before. Best way I can describe it is like Inspector Gadget if he were badass.
Will update on more progress on said titles.

Humble Bundle: Kodansha's Fall In Love With Shoujo

![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
This collection includes:
You can get the entire bundle of manga for only $30 USD. That said, you can also get the first volume of each series for only $1 USD! All items are available as ePub and PDF.
This bundle supports Book Industry Charitable Foundation, which has helped bookstore and comic book store employees and owners who encounter unexpected financial crises. The Binc Foundation works to keep book people in their homes, in their jobs, and with their families – stabilizing the brick and mortar bookstore community. With some bundles, you can pick which charity you want your donation to go to, but that doesn't seem to be the case with this one. If you scroll down on the right hand side of the Humble Bundle page, you can also find an area where you can adjust how much of your purchase goes to which organization (the charity, the publisher, and Humble Bundle, respectively), with a minimum mandatory amount to Humble Bundle as the host.
With most manga ebook volumes costing around $7 USD (sometimes fifty cents less, sometimes a few dollars more), you only need to be interested in five of the volumes available in the complete bundle to justify the cost—and the total bundle has 83 volumes! That's just over thirty-six cents per tankoubon.
You can find out more information about the various series at the Humble Bundle link. Definitely worth checking out if even one of the titles catches your interest, IMO.
This bundle will close in about three weeks.
Edit: Everything except "A Condition Called Love" is a complete series and is included in its entirety. "A Condition Called Love" is still ongoing, and, at this point in time, has another volume available from Kodansha.
Recent Playing: Citizen Sleeper 2
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
The protagonist, as in the first game, is a "sleeper"--an android imbued with the consciousness of a debtor to the corporation Essen-Arp. In order to pay off their debt, the original human goes into stasis and permits a copy of their mind to be put into the android, who then labors, free of charge, for Essen-Arp until the debt is paid. As in the first game, this sleeper escapes and is now on the run. Unlike the first game, the sleeper of 2 is fleeing not Essen-Arp themselves, but another individual who would use the sleeper for their own ends.
As a sequel, I think this game does an excellent job of sticking with what made the first game fun while not coming off too derivative from the first game. The beautiful graphics, music, and game design are still there, but with expanded focus: you can now travel to several different space ports. The themes of community-building, compassion, and resisting corporate cruelty are still present, but with a new cast with their own interesting stories. There are a few recurring characters from the first game, but not in a way that would be confusing if you skip 1 and start with 2.
2 has difficulty levels as well, if you'd like to crank things up or dial it back. I played on the standard level and found it pretty easy to manage resources. There's a new stress mechanic to incorporate into your strategy, and while off on certain quests, you can utilize team members for various tasks as well.
If I had any complaints, I would have liked to find out more about Laine, the man tracking the sleeper. While his motives are explained by the end, he himself remains a rather mysterious figure and it would have been nice to have a clearer picture of the sleeper's main enemy, particularly given their history. The themes can also be a little heavy-handed, but not so much that I found them obnoxious, and I'm always happy to interrogate the harm that unchecked corporate power exerts on society, particularly on those least able to fight back.
On the whole, as a fan of the first game, I was quite happy with this follow-up and I will definitely play it again.

Chat corner 200!

Hi!
This is the 200th themed chat corner of this community!!!
(...unless I miscalculated somewhere, which, lets be real, has a high possibility. Erm.)
I'm looking at the post I made for the 100th chat corner, and something that I wrote there: "That’s a number with about two more places than what I’d assumed this thing would survive when I started." I don't know how about you, but I'm pretty impressed that we're still here!
Now, it might be because this thing has gotten buried too deep under my skin, and I'll be here for the next decade, whether anyone comes and talks or not...
BUT, you do come! And you do talk! Thank you all for that, and I hope it's fun, or enriching, or maybe just rewarding in some way. :)
No prompt this week, but I'd love to know if there is some discussion, or comment, or a Dreamwars-related moment that stayed with you as a good memory. Or perhaps, something you'd like to experience here, realistic or not. I'm curious!
Private community for storing drafts, templates and symbols

(cross-posted from newcomers)
Sharing my method for saving unpublished posts on Dreamwidth since I haven't seen it mentioned before:
It's basically just creating a community for yourself with all posts set to private (here's how). That'll serve as a repository for posts only visible to you that you can organise with tags exclusive to the community. I also use my private community to store post templates with code and put in a sticky post a bunch of often used emoji along with other symbols to copy and paste when I'm on my PC.
Does anyone know of any other less known methods for saving drafts on Dreamwidth? ☺️

I like the mix of dogfights and drama the anime incorporates. Not sure how it will end but I at least be happy that I've finished the 2000s version when I do.
I also dig its opening them Mission(Fugga), I feel that it sets the tone highly well.
Below a screencap of my favorite character who's also my favorite to choose in the videogame adaptation, Mickey Simon, who flies the ever awesome F-14 Tomcat.
